In 2005, the need arose to create an opportunity for our young children to encounter folk traditions.
After the official registration in 2006, we showed up at the Partium Hungarian Days: we organized a craft fair, craft demonstrations, and craft sessions, thus the Partium Craft Street was born. After that, we regularly organized our festive fairs.
Meanwhile, we supported traditional crafts in schools, kindergartens, and camps, the countryside, and in the city, at various events. Our old dream was to create a permanent place called Fonó-Ház. This community space was born in 2010 and still functioning nowadays with regular workshops and colorful programs. Fonó-Ház – and the Aranykapu association, grew and developed, our programs continued to expand and become more colorful.The main purpose of our programs is to establish a childhood sensitivity to traditions and nature, to transmit and live the values of our past and our organic Hungarian culture.We group our folk tradition preservation activities according to a well-structured, centuries-proven system, namely the significant days and holidays of the year, which includes the individual activities in a unified framework in terms of content and chronological order, which are transparent.
We are convinced that a child who preserves folk traditions and is brought up in a spirit close to nature becomes richer emotionally and more receptive and learns about the values of the past and responsibility towards the environment.
