Băbești, a locality in Romania, Partium, Satu Mare county. The town of Băbești from the epoch of Árpád. His name was already mentioned in a book from 1261 as Babun. In 1808 it was written as Babony, Babinec, and in 1913 as Kisbábony. In 1910, of its 565 inhabitants, 553 were Hungarians and 10 Romanians.
