Băbești, a locality in Romania, Partium, Satu Mare county. The town of Băbești from the epoch of Árpád. His name was already mentioned in a book from 1261 as Babun. In 1808 it was written as Babony, Babinec, and in 1913 as Kisbábony. In 1910, of its 565 inhabitants, 553 were Hungarians and 10 Romanians. Of these, 51 were Roman Catholic, 35 Greek Catholic and 462 Reformed.
