Botpalád is a gem located in the eastern tip of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. A small settlement in an untouched natural environment. According to the available documents, it is already mentioned in the 1400s. It was considered a famous and noble village. In 1410 it was the property of Dienes Csaholyi. At the end of the 19th century, its main owners were Count Barkóczy, Count Teleki, Kállay, Fülep, Tasnádi, Pinkóczy, Kozák and other families. Botpalád was already inhabited in prehistoric times. In the past, it was surrounded by a large forest, it was a glade village, which appeared on the floodless heights of the rivers. In 1810, 12 out of 50 dwelling houses in Botpalád were noble mansions.
