Culciu Mare (Nagykolcs in Hungarian) is the village of residence of Culciu commune in Satu Mare County, Transylvania, Romania.
The first documentary attestation is from 1279, and the village belonged to the Kóch and Tussay families. In 1321, Péter Kóch lost his property due to infidelity. Culciu Mare, which at that time was also called Paplan Kolchya, was given to the Csomaközi and Bagossy families. The Csomaközi family played the most important role in the 18th century, which retained it until the end of the 19th century, when this role was taken over by the Bagossy family. The Schuller, Darvay, Diószeghy and Pál families also had property here, in addition to the Bagossy family. In 1882, half of the Bagossy estates were inherited by Ágoston Szerdahelyi. In the early 1900s, the larger owner was Emil Böszörményi. After the Treaty of Trianon, the village is annexed by the Kingdom of Romania.
