Kispalád village in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County.
Kispalád belonged to three villages in the area formerly known as Paladság (the other two are Nagypalád and Botpalád in Transcarpathia). There was a time when it belonged to the palágy part of the Csaholy family estate. It belonged to the Csaholiya family until the death of the male branch of the family. In the mid-1400s, in addition to the Csaholys, members of the Ujhelyi family of the Hontpázmány family also had part of their property here. In 1453, György Ujhelyi was co-owner in the villages of Kispalád and Darnó. In 1545-1549, Palad was given to the Csaholyi girls. In the 16th century, when the Csaholyi manor was disintegrated, it became the property of the Briberi Melith and Radnóczi Petrichevich families, then a chamber estate, and belonged to Szatmár Castle as early as 1696. In the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, count Barkóczy, count Teleki, count Property of the Károlyi, Kállay, Szerdahelyi, Longer, Taikly, Becsky, Török, Angyalossy, Bakos, Jeney and Hunyadi families, were owners.
Elek Fényes writes about the village in his historical geography: “Its land is like Botpalád’s, yellow clay, sand here and there, its hay grows marsh hay, many glades, waist. The alder forest is quite large. The waters of Túr and Tisei flow during floods. It has 777 inhabitants.Count Teleki has a beautiful and profitable mill on the waters of the river Túr”.
