Kömörő village in the Northern Plain region, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county. Kömörő’s name is mentioned in documents for the first time in 1344, under the name Kemerew. In the early 1300s, it was owned by the Kömörey family. In 1496, László Ujhelyi and László Szepessy were the owners of the settlement.
In 1518, the owner here was István Werbőczy, who exchanged shares with István Perényi. In 1544 Pál Muchey, János Nagyváthy and Miklós Rácz were the owners here. In 1561 it was owned by János Fekete Kelemenffy, in 1638 by Gáspár and Máté Szuhay, the widows of László Becsky and Imre Mosdóssy. In 1655, Mrs. Zsigmond Perényi, in 1668, Klára Melith and Miklós Zólyomi Albisi are mentioned as owners. In the 18th century it still belonged to the Kölcsey family, but later it belonged entirely to the Kende family. At the end of the 19th century, its owners were the Kende, Count Rhédey, Czerjék, Ilosvay and Szűcs families. At the beginning of the 20th century, Zsigmond Kende was the largest owner.
