Mikola (in Romanian Micula, in Ukrainian Микула) is a village in Romania, Szatmár County. In 1339, Mikola’s name was already written in its current form, and in 1348 as Mykula. The settlement is the ancient estate of the Mikolay family, which Merc received from King Endre II in 1216 for his loyal services. In the 18th century, the Bagossy, Kölcsey, Mándy, Bodoky, Galgóczy families also acquired property here. In 1810, it was owned by György Mikolay and his relatives: the Csanáldy, Bagossy, Mándy, Baros, Szarvady, Császy, Bogdány, Kövér, Nagy and Papp families.
