Nagyhódos village is located in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. Before the 1470s, Nagyhódos was the property of the Gachály family. In the second half of the 1400s, it was owned by the Rosályi Kún family and the Drágfi family. In 1458, László Burián Pálfalvi and Remethey Lőrincz bought this part. In 1601, János Mezőszentmiklóssy won a royal grant for it. The settlement fell into ruin in the 1700s, even in 1791 only six common farmers lived there.
In the 18th century it was owned by the Becsky family and, besides them, the Maróthy family, as well as the Lipsey, Rhédey and Szilágyi families.
