In 2016, the Szamoshát folk dance group was established, which is operated by the Resource Center for the Preservation of Tradition in Satu Mare County and is coordinated by Károly Szarvas.
Popular dancers from several localities of the county participate in the ensemble. The ensemble’s repertoire includes Hungarian, Swabian, and Gypsy dances.
The ensemble has twenty members, but, unfortunately, more than ten couples cannot be formed, because, after popular dances, fewer boys than girls are interested. The group has already participated in many tours, the purpose of which is to bring folk dancers from different regions to smaller settlements and present the characteristics of the region they represent.
They participated in Maramureș, one of the most important Hungarian folk dance associations in Romania, organized for the first time, in the annual Anthology of Transylvanian folk dance.
