Ököritófülpös is a large commune located in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. The settlement was formed from the merger of three villages. Ököritó’s name is first mentioned in documents as part of the Tyukod border during the border crossing of the Cégény monastery.
His name was then written as Ocokur, de campo Ekewr (Ok Field). The village was created in the 13th century as a result of the settlement campaign of one of the ancestors of the Szente-Mágócs family, Kölcse.
In the 15th century, a secondary settlement of the village also developed.
The original Ököritó settlement did not long survive the change of ownership, in 1373 it was already mentioned as an abandoned estate by its sister village. In 1399, in addition to Domahidy, half of the village became part of the Csaholiy family, and in 1423 the Báthori family took part of it. In 1449 the Domahidy family received a further royal grant of their property here.
Later, several families acquired part of the property in the village. Before 1945, the Baron Uray, Kende and Németh families were the main owners. The relative development of the village is indicated by the fact that at the beginning of the 20th century the settlement already had a tile and concrete factory, a steam mill, a district registry office and a post office.
